Schedule 1includes a series of quests that you pick up through phone calls from Uncle Nelson. These essentially act like an extended tutorial, helping you navigate features as they’re unlocked so that you’re able to make the most of them. Unfortunately, completing quests isn’t always a smooth process.

As a game that’s only recently been released into Early Access, it’s not shocking that there are some bugs that you might come across while building your empire. The most frustrating bugs tend to be those that prevent a quest from being marked as finished after you complete the required task. “Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy” happens to be a quest where it seems like that type of bug occurs frequently enough to be an issue.
Accessing the Warehouse
The beginning of “Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy” gives you the objective of gaining access to the warehouse in Hyland Point, which is across from Taco Ticklers. It’s only open between the hours of 6PM and 6AM, and the first time you try to enter it, the little eye-slit slides open so you speak with an NPC. If you’ve reached therank of Hustler V or higher, he’ll let you into the warehouse. If not, you’ll need to leave and work on increasing your rank before you’re allowed into the warehouse.
Ideally, the first quest objective is marked as completed when you enter the building, switching to the next objective of “Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy.” However, some players have had issues with the quest properly being marked as complete and progressing to the next objective. If this happens, the best way to solve it is to save, thencompletely exit the game and return. That should nudge the quest to properly move forward.

Meeting the Merchants
The second part of “Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy” has you meet the three merchants who operate inside the warehouse. When you enter, you see the weapons merchant to the left. If you go up the stairs next to him, you meet the merchant that gives you the ability to hire employees. Each employee type and their daily cost are listed on the whiteboard in his room. Then, back downstairs on the opposite side of the warehouse is Oscar, who sells you supplies like the oven andbrick press.Speak with all three merchants, and the quest should be completed.
Just like the first part of the quest, the second part can run into the same issue of not completing it when you speak with the merchants. If that happens, the best course of action is to once again exit the game and log back in, and that should be enough to let you continue progressing in Schedule 1.
