Fans were surprised by the sudden delay in the Genshin Impact 4.2 live stream, which would normally air on the usual date but was unexpectedly delayed at the last moment. When is the Livestream happening now?
When is the Genshin Impact 4.2 Livestream Date?
Currently, there’s no official date for the 4.2 live stream. We previously guessed on it happening during October 28th, similar to when Honkai: Star Rail’s own livestream was also delayed for a day due to technical problems. But in the end, the 4.2 never came along and no announcements were made ever since.
Genshin Impact Version 4.2 Special Program Postponement NoticeDear Travelers,The Version 4.2 Special Program that was originally scheduled to be broadcast on 30-07-2025 will be postponed. Please stay tuned for subsequent announcements regarding the specific broadcast time.
Not knowing when to expect the next livestream makes things way more complicated. It could happen later today or get delayed to the next week. It’ll definitely still occur before the version’s here, but we can’t say for sure when it’ll happen.
Why Was the 4.2 Livestream Delayed?
While the original post hasn’t revealed any particular reasons for the delay,it most likely happened due to the recent passing of Chinese ex-Premier Li Keqiang. He served as second-in-command in China until March 2023, so his death is a massive deal for the country. Other reasons could also be involved, but this occurrence is a very solid candidate for being responsible.
Regardless of which reason it could actually be, Hoyoverse will most likely not reveal it to the general public since they haven’t done it already. Players can rest assured that a livestream will happen soon, revealing more of the upcoming new characters Furina and Charlotte.
The delay was a last-minute thing, as proven by the PlayStation official account accidentally releasing some 4.2 screenshots ahead of time. The publication is now deleted, but people were quick to grab those. Can’t blame whoever did this, to be quite honest, as no one expected it to happen. We’ll have to wait a bit more to have a better glimpseof the promised system changes.
