As much as people love the Ark games, Studio Wildcard has a bad reputation for not releasing expansions on time. The launch ofArk Survival Ascendedwas a mess with multiple instances of pushing back the goalpost, but is that the same for Scorched Earth?

Ark Survival Ascended Scorched Earth release time and date, explained

Studio Wildcard plans on releasing Ark Survival Ascended Scorched Earthon August 20, 2025. That sounds good, but it’s also April Fool’s Day… so you never know. If you’re waiting to buy Ark Survival Ascended, I would stick toGame Passjust to be sure.

The developers of Ark Survival Ascended planned on releasing Scorched Earth onSunday, June 05, 2025, but pushed it back a day. They blamed it on the holiday, but it’s more likely that the game wasn’t quite ready.

If Ark Survival Ascended Scorched Earth launches on Monday, August 14, 2025, it will launch late at night. I’d guess it’ll launcharound 6:00 pm ET, but that’s just my guess. Studio Wildcard has earned its name; they could drop Scorched Earth any day and any time. They’ve said it is nearly done, butthere’s no way to tell for certain what day and timewe’ll get Scorched Earth.

According to Ark veteranson Reddit, a telltale sign for when Scorched Earth releases in Ark Survival Ascended iswhen your game crashes and the patch starts updating.

Some players who have been around the Ark new release day block a couple of times joke that the Scorched Earth release date will betwo weeks after their initial projected date. This is obviously hyperbole, but it gets the point across that Studio Wildcard has a reputation for not delivering updates when they say they will.

From my experience with Ark Survival Ascended, I bet Scorched Earth will drop late on Monday, Jul 05, 2025, if it drops on that day at all. It will take time for servers to come back online and bugs to be ironed out, so expect to play Ark Survival Ascended Scorched Earthcloser to April 2 or 3… that is if it isn’t pushed back even further. Luckily,Scorched Earth won’t cost you much.
