Essentially, you have three ways that you can use to pay bills in The Sims 4. It doesn’t matter which one you decide to use each time bills arrive, as long as you pay them at all, your Sims will be able to continue their lives with the modern luxury of electricity.
Paying with the Mailbox
This is the most classic option, and one that’s the most familiar if you’ve played previous main games. After you receive the notification that lets you know your bills are due and how much you need to pay, you caninteract with your household’s mailboxand there should be a choice to pay your bills through the mailbox. If your Sims are in an apartment, then you’ll need to find the mailboxes for that apartment building, then look for the one that belongs to your household.
It’s good to make sure that your Sims follow through with this command, as they have a tendency to ignore it at times, so check that the amount of the bills has been removed from your household’s funds, and that the option to pay bills no longer pops up when you interact with the mailbox. If you don’t have bills due, you’ll see the option to look at bill information if you have the EcoLifestyle expansion installed.
Paying with the Phone and Computer
In addition to using the classic mailbox option, you can embrace technology and use your smartphone or computer to pay your bills with the convenience of modern life. If you want to use your phone to pay bills, simplyopen the phone menu, go to “Home,” and find “Pay Bills.“If you don’t have bills due, you’ll see the option to look at bill information just like with the mailbox.
Using the computer to pay your bills is similar to your phone, but with one fewer click required. Interact with any computer in your household,then find the “Pay Bills” option. Depending on how many expansions you have, you might need to choose “More Choices…” to find it. However, the option to pay bills generally appears in the first set of options when you interact with a computer. With that, you’re prepared to keep your household functioning with all the proper utilities in The Sims 4.
