Marvel’sThe Defendersis now available to stream on Netflix after a long wait and now the opening credits are available to watch online. The highly anticipated series premiered early Friday morning and since then, many have already binge watched all 8 episodes and some are gong in for seconds to analyze every little detail. Set in theMarvel Cinematic Universein the aftermath of 2012’sThe Avengers, which caused major damage to New York City, which is simply referred to as “the incident” sets upThe Defenders.

Marvel’s [Defenders} bringsDaredevil,Jessica Jones,Luke Cage, and Danny Rand, akaIron Fisttogether and has been 2 years in the making. Each character has their own look and feel as well as their own series, but this is the first time that we have been able to see them unite to work together. Though there are four members, the opening credits for the miniseries highlight the group’s 5th member, which is the city of New York.

Each one of theDefendershas their own look and unique color scheme that has been set up from their own previous shows.Daredevilis shown in his iconic red whileJessica Jonesis shown off in her blue/purple blend,Luke Cageis featured in his trademark golden yellow, andIron Fistis shown off in green while the credits serve as a brief history of the characters. The opening suggests some team-ups that may emerge within the show and the future.

DaredevilandJessica Jonesare paired together, but not really, which points to a turbulent relationship.Iron FistandLuke Cageor however, seen together, which leads to an easy partnership while Jones shows up again in silhouette with Luke, which may look towards a future relationship since they do pair up in the comics. So, it is a definite possibility, but unclear at the moment. But the most of the focus is spent on the city of New York as images of the group are shown the city, busses, and the streets, highlighting the potential danger in the city, which in turn hints at the city helpingThe Defendersdefend itself.

The opening credits provide a very interesting look into Marvel’sThe Defendersand multiple viewings provide clues about the miniseries and beyond. It’s obvious that the credit scene is meant to be watched over and over to find new details each time, so try not to skip over it every time while obsessively trying to finish the series. Marvel’sThe Defendersis currently available to stream in its entirety on Netflix andThe Punisheris up next, but the official release date is currently not available.
