The Prologue demo for13 Sentinels: Aegis Rimis now available in Japan on PS4. Clearing the first protagonist’s prologue takes around 15 minutes at most, and this unlocks the prologues of other protagonists. Each prologue is also around 15 minutes long, for a total of around 3 hours of play time.
Some of the players who fully cleared the demo mentioned on social media how it unlocks a teaser for a new game by Vanillaware. While it’s highly unlikely the teaser will receive an official upload soon and stay as a bonus for those who acquired the demo, the teaser video was streamed byPersona Centraland streamer dio_mark_ii, and you can find it below. It shows fantasy-themed characters and new artwork with Vanillaware’s logo.

Vanillaware’s director George Kamitani stated in his2019 happy new year messagethat because13 Sentinelsis science-fiction themed, he’s not drawing any fantasy-themed artwork lately, and he’d love to make a new fantasy-themed game soon, but that Vanillaware needed to finish13 Sentinels: Aegis Rimfirst. Now that the game got a more specific release estimate in Japan, it’s highly possible they nearly finished its development and moved on to a new fantasy-themed project.
WhileÂ13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim first got announced in September 2015, the game was similarly teased with Vanillaware’s 2013’s happy New Year artwork above. It’s possible the 2019 new year artwork will have something to do with this new teased game as well.
