In Dead by Daylight’s nearly ten years of generator repairing and survivor mangling, one of the most important ways the game stays fresh is by adding well-known and beloved IPs as downloadable content.
Some of the best licenses added toDead by Daylightwere not necessarily the best known, but how well they fit into the game and what unique quality it added to the entity’s realm of never-ending hunger. Below are the best licensed DLCs Dead by Daylight has ever added.

10 Casting Of Frank Stone Characters That Should Come to Dead by Daylight
Here’s who we think would make the best - and worst - additions to Dead by Daylight.
10Chapter 16: SILENT HILL
Silent Hillis a very well known gaming horror franchise, and with it comes a slew of monsters and protagonists who would fit right into DBD. With this chapter came Pyramid Head as a killer and Cheryl Mason as a survivor, and while the perks the two brought to the game weren’t meta-defining, the two characters brought a lot of new players into the game.
Pyramid Head has remained a popular character, with the ability to send people to cages rather than hook them, and a fun to use projectile move that slid underneath pallets and through walls. The killer has remainedat the top of tier listsfor a while and was a well-received addition to the entity’s realm.

9Chapter 30: CHUCKY
Just a Nice Guy
The Chucky film franchise has always straddled the line between actual horror and camp, but has remained popular within the horror fan community. The ability to finally play the famous killer doll in a role perfect for him, playing with multiple victims over and over, is incredibly fun.
When Chucky was first added, his kit was very powerful. This helped his popularity, along with full-voice lines for himand his legendary skin, Tiffany Valentine, getting full voice lines from Jennifer Tilly as well. The killer is not as strong as it used to be, but with a great assortment of deadly funny lines and a new 3rd player perspective for killer, Chucky is one of the best DLCs to hit the game.

8Chapter 2: THE HALLOWEEN
The First Big License
Dead by Daylight always had a lot of potential, but the game was only ever going to hit the big leagues if they couldn’t claim a big celebrity killer for their roster. That first, and one of the most important killers, was Michael Myers, meaning any celebrity murderer could be added to the game.
Michael’s design has met with some controversy over the years, but no one can deny that he is a terrifying presence in a game that sometimes forgoes fear for fun. Michael is the only killer who, near the beginning of a match, can just immediately end a survivor with the right load out, and while this is hard to balance, it adds a terrifying potential to the game and players who don’t immediately hear a terror radius.

7Chapter 36: FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S
Another Killer Celebrity
The popularity ofFive Nights at Freddy’scannot be denied. Springtrap was one of the most requested killers for DBD over the years. And finally, the game delivered, bringing the security footage-themed killer with a strong kit to the game.
Springtrap’s perks are not game-changing, but his basekit axe with the potential to instantly pickup targets makes them strong with good counter-play potential as well. The character also comes across as genuinely terrifying, andsince this killer also brought so many players into the game, it deserves a place in the top ten.

6Chapter 36.5: THE WALKING DEAD
Coral Would Be Proud
Despite the television series ending more than three years ago, The Walking Dead still enjoys a large, excited fan base. While there are no killers that really fit into the game from the series, the protagonists make for excellent survivors as the show was all about surviving despite the mounting odds.
This chapter brings Rick Grimes and Michonne to the game with some fascinating support perks that change coordinated play. Michonne’s perk, Last Stand, stuns the killer if she vaults within a short distance of them, leading to a huge amount of potential for saves and escapes from the killer. The chapter is new, but because of its popularity and how well it fits into the game, it deserves to be ranked among the best.
5Chapter 25: PROJECT W
It’s Weskin’ Time
BothResident Evilchapters are excellent, but only one chapter lets you play as The Mastermind himself, Albert Wesker. Resident Evil players got a chance to play the unstoppable villain in extra modes of the original games, but could never cosplay as him while playing around with normal humans and throwing them twenty feet into a wall.
That’s where Dead by Daylight came in. Capitalizing on the character’s origins, the killer’s design was strong but not broken, with fun counter-play for survivors and high-adrenaline chases as the genius superhuman speeds around trying to slam you into a wall. Add two beloved survivors, Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers, with important meta perks like Reassurance and Wiretap, and you’ve got the winning formula for a great DLC chapter.
4Chapter 13: STRANGER THINGS
Stranger Things was a phenomenon of a television hit, one of Netflix’s greatest creations and reasons for becoming the streaming behemoth it is today. All it needed was a video game that would let fans play as the beloved characters from the show.
Dead by Daylight delivered with chapter 13, and since then Steve Harrington players have become one of the most popular survivors and one of the most hated for their smugness and high-win rates. The Demagorgon became lovingly known by the community as ‘dema-doggy,’ and a few great perks were added, like Nancy Wheeler’s Fixated and Harrington’s newly buffed Babysitter, Stranger Things was a DLC chapter for the ages.
3Chapter 32: DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
It’s All About That Guitar
When Vecna was first announced as the new killer, fans thought that they were referring to a second Stranger Things chapter. The official announcement, however, revealed D&D would be entering the entity’s realm, and a slew of new game mechanics were added to board game up the asymmetrical survival game.
Vecna, while being a more complex killer, came with four fun abilities, and the survivors brought weak, yet fun, perks to the game. For so long, players only had two emotes for characters, but finally, in the game meant to frighten players, you could wait for a killer to reach only to play them a little tune. The meme potential really sold this chapter, and with some other fun killer mechanics like dice-rolling at chests for new abilities, it was a slam-dunk.
2Chapter 20: RESIDENT EVIL
Bringing in the Big Boys
The survivors versus killers angle is perfect for the heroes and villains of Resident Evil. Now players could finally control the dreaded Nemesis, and a zombie army (of two) to terrorize Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine. All three of these characters are popular, and while Nemesis has not always been the strongest killer, he’s fun to play and scary to see.
Along with this DLC came a slew of new players for DBD and some great perks for both sides, like the killer-dreaded Flashbang and Blast Mine and the game-shortening meta perk Lethal Pursuer. Truly one of the best DLCs ever in the game and could easily take the top spot.
1Chapter 28.5: NICOLAS CAGE
Lean into the Meme
Dead by Daylight took a huge risk, and it paid off big time. The game just straight up added a celebrity actor to the game. The developers knew their fan base, and knew there was a scary side to the game and a hilarious side to the game, which this DLC invested in tenfold.
Running around as an eccentric actor with surprisingly strong perks is too much fun. So many new players entered the game, and older players, tired of the monotony, returned to run four-person teams of screaming Nic Cages to attempt, and mostly fail, to avoid getting mori’d. But the whole fan base was shocked, excited and had a great time with the new content, making it DBD’s best DLC experiment ever.
