The Last of Us Season 2 Will Premiere on Max in 2025
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are set to reprise their respective roles as Joel and Ellie in the second season of “The Last of Us.” The new episodes, once again led by Craig Mazin and Neill Druckmann, the creator of Naughty Dog’s apocalyptic story, are ready to arrive on Max in 2025. To start building excitement, the first poster of the next chapter for the protagonists has been shared, featuring a tone similar to"Resident Evil"and “Silent Hill.”
Even though viewers can find out what will happen in season 2 by playing “The Last of Us 2,” Sony is opting to keep the events of these new episodes a complete mystery to catch the audience off guard. The first season left a mark on HBO, and it seems this second one will do the same, possibly having an even greater impact.
The promotional poster features a welcome sign to Seattle, where the plot will unfold, with a style very similar to the posters of Raccoon City and the aforementioned Silent Hill, with a dark, rainy atmosphere focused on pure horror.
“The Last of Us” begins 20 years after modern civilization has collapsed. A fungus, Cordyceps unilateralis, has led humanity to destruction in a matter of weeks, ravaging entire countries and condemning survivors to a miserable existence in safe zones run by the Federal Disaster Response Agency (F.E.D.R.A.), a government organization operating in the United States. There is no specific release date for season 2 yet, but important news will surely be coming soon.
