Last week’sThe Games Awards 2018drew 26 million people to view the award ceremony. This is almost twice as much as the previous year’s award show.
The Game Awards 2018 Viewership Almost Doubled Compared to Last Year
The award show present by Geoff Keighley racked up over 26 million people and via his official Twitter account he shared the numbers. The amount of viewers have greatly increased over a few major streaming platforms including Twitch which peaked 1.13 million concurrent views. There was definitely more interactivity this year as fan votes increased by 50% compared to 2017.
The growth of this award show is quite staggering considering that only two years ago in 2016 the event’s viewership reached a total of 3.8 million. This year it reached 26 million according to the numbers Keighley shared in his tweet.
