Many actors dream of working with the legendary director Tim Burton, who is known for his eccentric and dreamlike films blended with gothic and whimsy elements. Once upon a time, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds became so close to making a movie with the filmmaker, but the planned collaboration mysteriously did not materialize.

The movie, however, still pushed through with new actors on board. There was no explanation for why the original cast members were replaced, and for years, it remained a secret. In a new interview, we might get some clues as to why Burton did not work with Witherspoon and Reynolds.
