Mayim Bialikis having the time of her life as one of the interimJeopardy!hosts. After Alex Trebek passed away in 2020, a series of guests hosts were brought in to serve as host until a permanent successor could be found. Following the controversial and brief run of former executive producer Mike Richards, it was announced that Bialik and Ken Jennings would take turns hosting the show for the remainder of the season. Officially, a singular permanent host has yet to be named since the Richards fiasco.
Bialik could end up sticking around on a full-time basis, but it remains to be seen whatJeopardy!producers ultimately end up going with after the current season. If you ask Bialik, she’s hoping her time on the game show will continue. Recently speaking withVarietyat the Critics Choice Awards, Bialik addressed herJeopardy!run and spoke about how much fun she’s been having. She also touched on why this particular job came so naturally for her, as she’s able to use many of her different skills all together in one place.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Bialik says. “It feels like a lot of the things I’ve been trained to do. Present, speak, stand up, have someone talk in my ear while speaking. They’ve all come together forJeopardy!.”
When asked if her neuroscience degrees also help, Bialik responded, “I guess so!”

Mayim Bialik Wants to Host Jeopardy! Full Time
Mayim Bialik has been keeping busy, but she has already made it clear that she would love to stick around onJeopardy!as Alex Trebek’s successor. Not only has she taken to the job well, but many viewers found her to be among the best of the guest hosts, and she seems to be a perfect fit in the eyes of many. Last fall, theBig Bang Theorystar said that theJeopardy!gig would be the dream job that she wants above all others.
“There’sno other job I would rather have,” Bialik explained. “I love my sitcom work, I do. I love all the other things I do. I love the podcast. But I absolutely have never had a better job … the use of my brain and my skillset feels best suited by this job onJeopardy!. It is a dream job. I think it’s a dream job for anyone, but especially for someone who is trained first as a performer and then as a science communicator.”
Meanwhile, Bialik has also tried her hand at directing a movie. She helmed the new feature As They Made Us which tells the story of a dysfunctional family coming together to cope with a major loss. It is written and directed by Bialik, marking her directorial debut, and stars Dianna Agron, Simon Helberg, Candice Bergen, and Dustin Hoffman.
