The Hulk is a powerhouse inMarvel Rivalsthat can wreck everyone on the screen with his fists and sheer anger towards everyone. However, there are more sides to the green creature than you might expect as you play Bruce Banner and Monster Hulk, which drastically changes the monster’s gameplay.
All The Hulk’s Moves, Explained
This gamma energy-oriented hero has powerful fists and a huge frame at his disposal. The four-star difficulty character can leap a long distance and create an indestructible guard that creates shields for multiple heroes, including himself. Here are all The Hulk’s moves in Marvel Rivals, explained:
Bruce Banner’s Moves
Gamma Ray Gun (R2/RT)
Similar toD’Va in Overwatchwhen she’s out of her mech, Bruce has a little gamma ray gun that fires at opponents. It’s fairly weak but can do a decent amount of damage when Bruce achieves a headshot.
Gamma Grenade (L2/LT)
Bruce can throw a Gamma Grenade, which causes a small amount of damage, and launches them in the air.
Puny Banner (left analog stick + right analog stick)

Bruce Banner transforms into the regular Hulk form. You can do this at the start of every match. Shooting with the Gamma Ray Gun helps transform into The Hulk as it builds the ultimate meter.
Hero Hulk’s Moves
Heavy Blow (R2/RT)
Hulk punches with his massive fists towards foes in a close-ranged fashion.
Indestructible Guard (Square/X)
Hulk creates shields around himself and nearby allies, absorbing damage and then taking that in for energy for his ultimate Hulk Smash! The best time to use this is during intense conflicts where the bullets are flying, similar to theInvisible Woman’s Guardian Shield.
Radioactive Lockdown (L1/LB)
The Hulk pulses gamma energy and sends it towards foes. If they get hit, they become immobilized and immune to all ability effects. However, don’t attack them too soon. They’ll go back to normal if they get attached by either a Heavy Blow or Gamma Burst. Use this ability if you want to focus on one enemy and stop the other from attacking you.
Incredible Leap (L2/LT)
Holding down the L2/LT button has the Hulk leap a far distance. It can help the green monster to get back into the fight. It will also knock down flying enemies likeIron ManandStorm. Use Incredible Leap to get to higher ledges to attack snipers like Hawkeye and Black Widow.
Gamma Burst (R1/RB)
The Hulk claps his hands together to inflict damage on his foes. It does almost a quarter of the damage, and it’s snappy, so it works well in a combo.
Gamma Boost (Team-Up Ability)
The Hulk gives Doctor Strange and Iron Man a gamma radiation boost. Doctor Strange gains excess gamma energy for his Maelstrom of Madness move, while Iron Man gets a gamma upgrade for his Armor Overdrive ability.
Gamma Fastball (Team-Up Ability - Triangle/Y)
This mighty beast collaborates with Wolverine for this move. Go near the X-Man and then grab him with the triangle/Y button. Both sides have to agree. Then, Wolverine can be thrown far away by the big green guy. This can be used to save an objective from being taken at the end of the game during a tough-as-nails battle.
Hulk Smash! (Left analog stick + Right analog stick - Ultimate)

Taking the stored gamma energy from fighting in battles and taking damage with his Indestructible Guard, he’ll turn into Monster Hulk for around 10 seconds.
The Hulk gains a mighty +150 Max Health bonus when teaming up with Doctor Strange, Iron Man, or Wolverine.

Monster Hulk’s moves are practically the same but stronger. However, he does launch enemies for his main Heavy Blow attack (R2/RT) and his ultimate World Breaker can grab enemies and smash them on the ground, usually taking them down like Loki in The Avengers. There’s actually an achievement you can complete by performing this move onLoki. Nice reference!
General Strategies
While playing as the Hulk, try to be the team’s tank. Be up front and personal, beating up whoever you see fit. Try to focus on the healers first in the back with your incredible leap. You can also distract other tanks to help your healers and attackers stay alive by being the main target and using the Indestructible Guard to give your teammates a shield.
