If you mention the nameJosh Holloway, most will instantly recall one of the greatest characters in modern television, Sawyer. Two decades after his breakout as the charming “bad boy on the island” inLost, Holloway is emerging again with a new series. Nevertheless,Lostis still a huge part of his career, and naturally, he has every credential to weigh in on the talk of a potentialLostreboot. He just doesn’t seem all that interested.
Holloway is currently promoting his return to television in theHBOMax seriesDuster. He spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his reunion with J.J. Abrams for the series, and rising again in an industry that is very unforgiving towards actors who have passed their prime. “I must have thrown the penny over the wrong shoulder and broke a mirror while I did it, because I had a hard seven years,” Holloway says about his absence from film and television. He continues: “I had to focus on my family. I learned piano. I did all sorts of different things. I started telling my agents, ‘Just bring me work, I need to get out of house.'”

Lost at 20 Years Old: Revisiting the 10 Most Surprising Plot Twists
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, here are Lost’s 10 most jaw-dropping - and at times irritating - plot twists.
Dustersees Holloway playing Jim Ellis, a getaway driver in the 1970s who helps an FBI agent stop a crime ring. Even though Ellis still requires Holloway to channel that charming and wicked attitude, he is a vastly different character from Sawyer. However, Holloway’s legacy as therevenge-thirsty survivortrapped on the mysterious island is too beloved to ignore. He will always be Sawyer in fans' hearts. When asked if he would be down to reprise the role, Holloway shows little interest, but he says he “would be in”:

“I don’t know? I don’t have any feelings about it because I don’t believe they would do that. I would be in — of course, why not? But I feel like that show’s ending … I’m solid with loss and closure. It’s been the most amazing experience and has the longest legs in the history of a TV show, it seems like. Now we’re back again because of Netflix.
“I remember some teenage girls laughing and looking at me, and I was like, ‘Oh God, what have I got on my face?’ And they’re like, ‘You’re on Lost.’ I was like, ‘Wow, you guys are just now watching that?’ So it’s interesting to have people come up to you with their daughters or sons and say, ‘I watched it 20 years ago, now I’m watching it with my son or my daughter.’ That’s special. I love that because I have children. So I always love it when you may find moments with your kids to share something with. Mine have never seen Lost, and they don’t give a damn.”

“Yeah, I Think I Got a Minute, J.J. Abrams!”
The retro crime seriesDusterwas created by LaToya Morgan and J.J. Abrams for HBO Max. It was Holloway and Abrams' official reunion after the actor had a minor role inMission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, which was produced by Abrams. TheColonyandYellowstoneactor recalled how Abrams pitched himthe part inDuster, a role for which he became a certified stunt driver:
“He called me out of the blue and immediately was like, ‘You got a minute?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I think I got a minute, J.J. Abrams!’ He launched into pitching me this show and I couldn’t even believe what I was hearing. He said, ‘You’re a wheel man for the mafia in 1972’ — and I had a hard time focusing on anything else he said after that.

“I’m much more comfortable being very close to other cars now, or being close to the walls on freeways. None of that bothers me now because I had to train to drive right along someone’s door, or right on their bumper, so we could do precision stuff.”
