The announcement ofEnter the Gungeon 2has fans excited to see what improvements will be made to the popular game and even more importantly, what will remain of the first game which was so well-received.

Collecting guns was so fun because of the interesting synergies made withuseful itemsthe Gungeoneers collected or had on them from the beginning of a run. Here are ten items that must return for the upcoming sequel.

Enter The Gungeon Clown Mask Item

10Clown Mask

Put the Money in the Bag

The perfect item for players wanting to feel like the gang of robbers from The Dark Knight. The Clown Mask grants the player a familiar who will assist them in stunning, blocking, or activating mini-blanks to protect da’ boss.

Enter the Gungeon Sells 1 Million on Switch with Physical Edition on the way

What’s even more fun about this item was that if the player acquired the Loot Bag or the Drill as well, they would be granted another criminal assistant for each, turning you from a lone wolf into a gang of robbers.

Metal Geared Up

While not the strongest item in the game, the box is a fun and iconic ode to the Metal Gear franchise. While inside, players will not be targeted and they can reposition and do double damage when firing again after taking it off. Players could also use this to steal from the shop, a necessity for some of the pricier items to be unlocked like the already-mentioned Clown Mask.

8Springheel boots

Do A Double-Barrel Roll

The dodge roll is important inEnter the Gungeon, so why not add a second and give yourself more crucial i-frames. The Springheel Boots give the player an extra dodge roll to perform and Gungeoneers who know how to utilize the roll will begin breaking the game from how convenient it is to have these bouncy friends on.

7Duct Tape

If You Can’t Duct It…

While a player might think it would make sense to fix guns with this tape, it actually serves a dumber, but more fun purpose. This item allows players to combine weapons togethera la Chuck Greene in Dead Rising 2. This leads to weird and fun combinations of weapons, and its inclusion in the sequel game is a must for players to discover new, wacky combos to pull off.

6Mimic Tooth Necklace

Time To Go Mimic Huntin’

Brave Gungeoneers willing to risk it all for big rewards will don this high-stakes item. The Mimic Tooth Necklace turns every chest into a mimic, unlocking all chests, but always ensuring a mimic battle with a potential greater reward given than a regular chest. This is a fun item that adds a new angle to the game and can be combined with other mimic-type items to reap even greater rewards.

5Cat Bullet King Throne

Feel Like A Boss

Kill your past in style while flying around the Gungeon. This item grants the player flight, and changes their sprite to sit atop a smaller version of the thronethe Bullet King sits upon. The icing on this item’s cake is that when the player dodge rolls, they not only get i-frames, but also spread some bullets which do not eat into your own ammo supply. It looks cool, feels good and should be a necessity for the next entry in the franchise.

4Lament Configurum

Raise A Little Hell

A reference to thefamous boxfrom theHellraiser franchise, the Lament Configurum item adds a fun mini-game of risk and reward to a run. Each time it’s used, the player must fight a wave of enemies, eventually opening it will spawn a rare gun or item, potentially hurting the Gungeoneer in the process. The player must make the call as to when this is worth the risk, but this item can take some runs to the moon or be the reason they end.

Get the Law on your Side

The Badge item spawns a little cop who will battle your enemies with you. This cop is not invincible, however, and if they take enough damage, they will fall, allowing you to talk to them and gain damage output bonus as revenge for your fallen comrade. There’s fun synergies to boost the little guy and its inclusion with cool tweaks would be welcome in the next game.

Get Hooked for all the Rewards

If the player wishes to feel like a character right out ofDune, look no further than the Spice item pickup. This hilarious item will boost several of the player’s stats and also begin to show up more and more in shops, chests and item drops. Each use will make the item show up more and sometimes using the items will be detrimental to certain stats. This item creates a dangerous game of choosing how much spice to take and when to take it. Dune is all the rage with the films coming out, so hopefully this unique item will show up again.

1Ser Junkan

The Diamond in the Rough

Oh Ser Junkan, how the players love you. This cute companion follows you through the Gungeon, getting stronger with each piece of Junk the player picks up. The sheer number of transformation and the joy of leveling up this companion is such a fun part of Enter The Gungeon, and a perfect demonstration of the combination of strategy and comedy found in the franchise. If Ser Junkan does not return, riots will ensue.
