Persona 3 Reload has done a fantastic job of bringing a cult classic into the limelight. So much so that there are now rumors of even moreremakes/remastersof previous Persona titles. And while this version of Persona 3 is easier and more accessible to larger audiences, some enemies hit just as hard.
If you’re looking for a challenge, we’re going to show you how to find & beat the Reaper in Persona 3 Reload.
How to find the Reaper in Persona 3 Reload
The Reaper is anoptional bossthat players can fight in Person 3 Reload. In previous Persona 3 releases, all you had to do to get the Reaper to show up was sitting and waiting on any floor ofTartarus. This is not the case for Reload, and there are a few stipulations to finding the Reaper that you should know.
First, it should be noted that the Reaper’s first appearance inPersona 3 Reloadis apseudo-story moment. To reach this moment, you’ll need to advance the story until youget to 6/13on the calendar. After this is fulfilled, enter Tartarus andclimb to floor 62. Around this floor, your navigator will tell you about someone extremely dangerous heading your way.
In previous games when the Reaper was around, you’d hear these horrifying chains signaling he’s about to start chasing you. However, in Persona 3 Reload, the corners of your screen will have thisdark red aurasurrounding it, signifying the Reaper’s presence. The Reaper will then start exploring the floor you’re currently on. And unlike any other Persona game to date, the Reaper will follow you to the next floorsyou climb (minus sub-boss and border floors). Now I hope you’re ready for the fight of your life.
The Reaper in Persona 3 Reload doesn’t have any weaknesses but alsoisn’t resistantto anything. He is, however, immune to all ailments, so sadly, you can’t put him to sleep with a warm glass of milk. What’s more, even if you use Fukka’s full analysis the Reapers level as well as his move set are both question marks. Because of this, we recommend that you and your party are somewhere betweenlevels 60-80.
How to beat the Reaper in Persona 3 Reload
Once you have all the preparations done, head into the fight. The Reaper is merciless, boastingtwo attack movesevery time your party performs one full attack rotation. He uses some of the best attacks in the game likeMudoon,Vorpal Blade, andHeat Riser.
We recommend using party members such asAigis, Yukari, andKoromarufor their debuffs and heals. At the beginning of the fight, you’ll want to start debuffing the Reaper because he will attempt to use Heat Riser.
From here, it’s pretty much a war of attrition. Since the Reaper has no weaknesses, you need toutilize attacks with high critical ratesas well as heal your party constantly. Depending on your level, your party might not need to be at max health to survive an attack.
But just to be safe I would have the MC is at full health before the Reaper’s next attack. So keep widdling away at his health (and trust me, he has a lot of health), and make sure youhave Personas that block or resist fire, light, and dark. And if you happen to kill it, die, or realize that you might need to grind a few more levels, the Reaper does respawn. But if you’re wondering what other changes were made fromP3P to P3R, we’ve got just the thing.
