In Hades 2, Melinoe’s relentless curiosity drives her to the edge of Mount Olympus, where she encounters Typhon—a monstrous force feared by gods and mortals alike. This towering boss, armed with a barrage of devastating ranged attacks, poses a formidable challenge in a confined arena.
In this guide, we’ll break down all of the attack patterns of the boss so that you can take down Typhon and emerge victorious in Hades 2.

How to Defeat Typhon in Hades 2
During the Typhon boss fight inHades 2, getting up close and under the chin for quick attacks, he’ll charge up aChin Slamand release it after about a second. While this move can hit hard, it’s less damaging compared to many of his other projectile attacks.
If you stay near the center of the boss arena, Typhon will fireRed Bubblesat you. When the larger bubble hits the ground, it splits into two smaller red bubbles, all of which deal area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Be careful not to get caught in the splash zone!
Another attack to watch out for isMini Tornadoes, which Typhon mixes in with his other moves. These tornadoes are stationary and don’t move across the entire arena, so you may easily avoid them by running to areas where they aren’t spinning.
One of Typhon’s trickier moves involves thesnake in his mouth, which spews a mist to make the boss temporarily invisible. During this phase, Typhon will also drop 3-5 red eggs around the arena. These eggs will hatch after a short time, spawning armored enemies (marked by yellow health bars). To avoid dealing with these tougher foes, destroy the eggs as soon as they appear.
The snake also has aLaser Swipeattack, where it conjures a laser beam and sweeps it across the arena from one side to the other. Thankfully, this attack is relatively easy to dodge if you stay alert.
One unique aspect of the Typhon fight is that his health bar is hidden. You’ll need to keep attacking consistently until you’ve dealt enough damage to trigger a special event:Lord Zeuswill join the battle, hurling lightning bolts to help Melinoe take down Typhon.
After Zeus’s intervention, Typhon will become stunned and vulnerable for a few seconds, with the snake in his mouth lying motionless at the center of the arena. This is your chance to unleash as much damage as possible on the snake before the fight moves into its next phase.
InPhase 2, Typhon’s attacks remain the same, but he’ll launch projectiles more frequently. The best strategy here is to stay close to or under his chin whenever you see him preparing to fire projectiles. This is because most of his attacks are aimed at the center of the arena, and the resulting AoE bubbles spread outward to the edges. Staying under Typhon’s chin keeps you out of harm’s way.
The key to defeating Typhon is patience and precision. Stick to the strategy, avoid rushing in recklessly, and you’ll take him down without too much trouble.
Rewards for Defeating Typhon
Every boss drops a unique material that is used back at the Crossroads for Incantations, and you get Void Lens when you defeat Typhon in Hades 2.
Ares, the God of War is another new god addition in the Hades 2 Warsong content update, and you get to receive his boons in future runs after having your first encounter with Typhon.
