This guide shows you where to find the Etherblooms, their quest relevance, and how long it takes for the Blooms to regrow.

How to Get Transcendent Sigil Stones in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Sigil Stones are a great way to power up your gear, but they do have multiple tiers.

The Crumble Quest

You will obtain theCrumble Queston your first trip toCuanachtin Act 2. Usually, on your way to completing theHowl of the Wintermoon, you’ll meet a Dal Riata warrior named Heiko. Heiko will ask you to bring him some ingredients to create a dish called the Crumble, a delicacy that includesEtherblooms, butter, and flour. He has plenty of flour but will ask the player to bring him a stick of butter and the Etherblooms needed.

You can either gather theEtherbloomsin the wild or you can find them in greater abundance in theHorns of the South. Both ways of obtaining the bloom will be detailed below.

Wild Etherblooms

Wild Etherbloomscan be found at random in forest areas and abandoned buildings during the Wyrdness hours. Most prominent is the crumbling abandoned house near where thenameless Dal Riata leadercan be found in theForlorn Swords, though only a handful will spawn at once, giving a less than reliable source for the plant as it takes 1–2 days for the bloom to regrow and there is no guarantee that the bloom will appear during theWyrdnesshours after the regrowth so soon.

The Smugglers Bay

Found at the southern end of the map and to the far right in theHorns of the South,Smuggler’s Bayis a tucked-away mini-dungeon home to crooked nobles and bandit guards attempting to cultivate the plant. This is also where you’ll find the largest concentration ofetherbloomsin the entire game, and can easily be overlooked, or the blooms carelessly spent or dropped before the player realizes what they can be used for.

Befriend The Guard

Upon entering thecave, you’ll find a man sitting at a table acting as theguard. If you have a high enough perception, you’ll be able to trick him into thinking he’s been guarding the exit instead of the entrance. From here, you are able to temporarily befriend him, have him sit by the fire for a meal, and have at least 15 different food items in your bag, as he will ask if you have any food to share. Keep sharing until the dialogue eventually becomes a single ‘no,’ and the guard will then answer any of your questions before falling asleep.

This earns you the achievement,Blooming Friendship. From here, you can either kill the guard for the key or leave him to rest. Another key can be found on one of the nobles within the cave that unlocks a wrought iron gate that gives you easy access to the etherbloom stash.

Etherbloom Harvesting

Once you get past the iron gate through either killing theguardor killing one of the nobles who has a key, you’ll find the room with theEtherblooms. You can find up to 200 Etherblooms per harvest, though you’ll only need a few to complete the crumble side quest. These can be used later for the recipe and other concoctions later in the game. To obtain more, simply rest outside the cave for 1-2 full days and re-enter; the enemies will respawn, and so will the blooms.

you’re able to then return toCuanachtand give the ingredients toHeiko, who will prepare the snack and give it to the player. Eat theCrumbleand report back to Heiko. This will complete the quest and unlock a new recipe and food which you can purchase from Heiko’s shop anytime you visit the area.
