As confirmed last week,Elden Ring: Nightreignwas set to receivepatch 1.02, introducing the newduo mode, on the 31st. However, at the last minute and for safety reasons,FromSoftwarehas postponed it to ayet-to-be-determined date.
This is due to anew climate disasterthat the summer of 2025 might add to its record, as a recent8.8 magnitude earthquakein theKamchatka Peninsula, Russia, has triggered tsunami warnings inJapanand other countries. One of thefirst effectshas been thedelay of the patchonPS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Since this is no joke inJapan,FromSoftwareannounced early in the morning (CET) that they needed todelay their most immediate future plansat the studio. The update isnot expected to be availableuntil the tsunami warnings and alerts are lifted.
Duo Mode and Second Cycle Also Postponed
FromSoftwareconfirmed they planned to deploy it at10:00 AM (CET), but that will no longer be the case. And to answer your question — yes, theduo expeditionswill be added withpatch 1.02, and these are alsopostponed.
Additionally, thesecond cycle of the ‘Eternal Dark Sovereign’— which was also scheduled to start at3:00 AM (CET)on the same day — has likewise beenpostponed"until after the update files have been distributed."
Patch 1.02 Brings UI Improvements and New Filters
It’s unfortunate, becausepatch 1.02includesUI improvementsfor better usability, along withnew relic filtering optionsforElden Ring: Nightreign, but there’s no other choice for now.
