The latest patch forCyberpunk 2077introduces vehicle editing options, new customization features, an enhanced Photo Mode, and various other adjustments.

Cyberpunk 2077hasn’t said its final farewell—at least not on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the platforms targeted by this update.

These additions come despite CD Projekt announcing it would cease active development on the game to focus on new projects, includingThe Witcher 4, which has officially entered production.

The Polish studio is also working onCyberpunk 2,but before moving on completely, they’ve given 2077 one final “push” with a series of much-appreciated updates.

What’s New in Update 2.2

During a live stream, community managers Amelia Kołat and Alicja Kozera detailed the improvements brought by this new (and possibly final?) update to the game.

One standout feature isCrystal Coat, an option that lets players instantly modify a vehicle’s color to suit their preferences. This feature can even help players evade the police by changing the car’s appearance.

Kiroshi’sTwin Tonetechnology advances vehicle customization further by allowing players to scan another vehicle and copy its visual design.

These upgrades are usable with ten new vehicles from Autofixer—eight for the base game and two more from the Phantom Liberty expansion.

On your travels, you’ll also have a notable companion:Johnny Silverhandjoins the ride with specific reactions depending on your driving style.

Johnny also gets involved in the enhancedPhoto Mode, allowing players to capture snapshots of him. Additionally, this mode now includes options to add new NPCs to your photos.

The Photo Mode also eliminates collision issues that previously prevented capturing elements blocked by objects.

PC users gain an exclusive option in Photo Mode to adjust the size and format of images.

WithSmart Frames, players can now frame any photo and use it to decorate their apartment, adding a personal touch to their space.

Thecharacter editorreceives over 100 changes, including new options for eyes, nails, skin types, tattoos, and corporate-themed customizations. Players can also select from eight new base faces.

Finally, CD Projekt encourages players to discover the new events and secrets scattered across Night City with Update 2.2—a way of expressing gratitude for the community’s support over the years.

No PS5 Pro Upgrade

The much-discussed PS5 Pro upgrade “neither exists nor is expected.” CD Projekt has repeatedly confirmed that it is not working on an update for Sony’s new console, though their use of “currently” leaves the door open for a possible change in the future.
