Asterigos: Curse of Stars Releases October 11th; Demo Available Now
The fantasy RPG Asterigos will be released onOctober 11th 2022for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One. But you don’t have to wait until October to check it for yourself as you’re able to now pick up the demo which is available on PC via Steam, and will be coming to consoles towards launch.
What is Asterigos?
In case you missed it, for a quick recap the game follows Northwind Legion warrior Hilda who is seeking her lost father and must enter the mythical city of Aphes. One thing about this city, it’s cursed. The game is inspired by Greek as well as Roman mythologies, including mythical bosses and legions. The action adventure promises soulslike gameplay elements with a simple yet dynamic combat system. The developer Acme Gamestudio believes it’s “a fresh take on the modern action RPG genre” according to the Steam page.
We checked out the game earlier this year, where we got ahands-on experience. The title offers range of weapons including sword and shield, daggers, spear, hammer, staff and bracelets. The version we got to play allowed for one skill to be tested per weapon and had Talents for further combat customisation of Hilda. The fast-paced combat matched with the wonderful ancient fantasy aesthetic got our attention. That combined with possible build options will really pull players in.
The title will have over 20 mythical bosses to face and a New Game+ mode if you’re up for further challenges.
Pre-Order Editions
If you have your eye on this game and want to get some bonuses be sure to snap up a pre-order. We’ll go through each of the game editions and what they offer.
Pre-Order Bonus
Order before the game releases and gain some useful Northwind armor and trinkets that will help boost your stats early on in the game. These include the Brooch of the Warhound, Northwind Tempest Set and Northwind Medallion.
Deluxe Edition
As with all editions, players will gain a copy of the game. For the Deluxe Edition players gain the Call of the Paragons DLC which will add new story and content in 2023. This editions also include the pre-order bonuses.
Ultimate Edition
Players will get a copy of the game, the Call of the Paragons DLC (releasing in 2023), digital artbook, digital soundtrack and pre-order bonuses.
Players should note the pre-order bonuses are only available until the game releases, so you better pre-order before October 11th if you want that armor.
