Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas unveiled a new trailer that delves into the past of Yasuke and Naoe, featuring an epic showdown.

Ubisoft is not having its best moment, with the game suffering two consecutive delays—first from June 18, 2025, to August 03, 2025, and now to March 20.
The adventure, starring Yasuke and Naoe, is building momentum as new details emerge about the Animus Hub, a platform that will unify all the games in the series and launch on the same day.

As if that wasn’t enough, director Charles Benoit has showcased up to two hours of gameplay on Twitch, joined by Chris Watters and Chastity Vicencio, spokespeople for Ubisoft News.
The gameplay has revealed the game’s polished visuals after months of development, along with exploration mechanics, dialogue systems with multiple choices reminiscent of Mass Effect, and stunning cinematics.

The highlight is a new story trailer forAssassin’s Creed Shadows, which dives deeper into its narrative, shedding light on one of the best duos of protagonists the series has ever seen.
The Setting and Plot
Assassin’s Creed Shadowstakes place during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, around 1579, with Oda Nobunaga at the height of his campaign to unify Japan. His ambitions bring him to the province of Iga, home to Naoe and her family.
Meanwhile, Yasuke, a man originally from Mozambique, arrives in Nobunaga’s court. Seeing great potential in him, Nobunaga decides to train Yasuke, despite skepticism from many within his ranks.

The story ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowstakes a dramatic turn when Nobunaga’s forces attack Iga, resulting in the death of Naoe’s family. However, before their demise, Naoe receives the iconic Assassin’s Creed blade, setting her on a path of vengeance.
Naoe’s journey as a shinobi (or ninja) begins, mastering the art of stealth and shadow to exact her revenge.
Meanwhile, Yasuke rises as a soldier under Nobunaga’s command, though he faces rejection from some of his peers and superiors. The trailer reveals the moment Yasuke discovers Naoe and even shows the two clashing in an epic battle.
Assassin’s Creed Shadowswill launch on June 24, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
