In thisA.I limitBeginner Guide, we will be sharing with you our best tips and tricks to start your journey in the sci-fi post apocalyptic future ofA.I limit. We will include things you may miss out on as you play through the game, so rest assured, you will not be missing out on anything after reading this guide.
Starter Weapon
A.I limitdoes not have a traditional class system like other souls-like and after a brief section explaining you the controls of the game, you will be asked to choosebetween 3 types of weapons, the Blader Longsword, the Blader Swords and the Blader Greatsword. You will receive a few extra attribute points depending on the choice you make at this point. But do not feel pressured by the choice and pick the weapon type that is most appealing to you.
The weapon type and their playstyle are pretty evident with the Longsword using regular swords with a balanced attacking power and speed, theDual Swordsemphasizing more on attack speed and theGreatswordproviding the greatest attack power with the slowest attack speed among the three weapons.

If you are new toSouls-like games, I would recommend going for the Longsword but even after the initial selection, you will find weapons of all three types in the starting area, making it possible for you to experiment and try out the weapons quite early on in the game.
Leveling Up
I would start by pointing out thatthere is a respec systemand it can be found about 1/3rd of the way into the game. Respec allows you to re-allocate all the points you have put into your attributes so you do not need to feel pressured about the early game decision of where to put your points.
Your attributes can be leveled up by spending crystals that you can gain from killing enemies or selling materials that you pick up. As you level up, the cost of crystals needed will exponentially increase and make leveling up feel slow, so the first 50 levels will determine your spread of attributes.

For point allocation, my recommendation would be to invest in the Life attribute for the first 5-10 levels, as the extra HP will help make the game more forgiving for your mistakes. Afterwards, I spend my next levels bringing the Vitality attribute to at least 15 as this will increase your Conversion stat with the higher conversion resulting in greaterSync Rateboost when attacking enemies.
The Vitality attribute also increases your stability stat which reduces the amount of Sync Rate loss when you are attacked. This makes it easier to use the weapon skills and spells more frequently as you land your basic attacks.

For the next 10 levels or so, I spent the points on the attribute that scaled the best with my weapon and will increase the damage the most, which will be either be the Strength attribute if you are using either Longsword or Greatsword weapon types or Technique attribute if you are using theDual Swordsweapon type. But if you want to have options, leveling up these two attributes simultaneously will allow you to use most of the weapons you will be coming across as you progress through the game. Once I’ve reached around level 30, I focused my next 5 levels putting points into the spirit attribute, making sure my spells do not fall off.
After level 40, I suggest you try to meet the goals, in whichever order you prefer:Life - 25 , Vitality - 15, Strength - 20, Technique - 15 and Spirit -15.you may focus more on the Technique attribute if you prefer using the swift and rapid striking dual swords compared to other weapons as they scale mainly with the Technique attribute. If you are confident in your abilities and do not want the extra life points, you can keep the Life attribute at 20 and distribute the points into the attribute that will give you the most damage.

After this point, it is a matter of how comfortable you are with your life points and your conversion rate as I spent points upgrading the Life and Vitality attributes occasionally with 2-3 points every 10 levels with the rest mainly focusing on either the Strength or Technique attribute depending on the weapon you are using.
In addition to the attribute points, your stats are also influenced by seals. There are two types of seals in the game with a main seal and normal seals. Different types ofmain sealswill have four to five slots for normal seals and these seals will give passive bonuses to your stats such as increased life points, stability or defense against certain types of damage.

The seals are not permanent and you can switch out the seals at any branch so do not be afraid to experiment and try out different seals.
NUCLEUS and BOSS NUCLEI
A.I limitmade a welcome change to the currency system of the souls-like genre as you will not drop all the crystals upon death but instead lose a set amount depending on the nucleus you have equipped. This makes it so that the nuclei you have equipped will determine how many crystals you earn and how many you lose upon dying, affecting the rate at which you can level up through your playthrough. The nucleus you have equipped will also affect the Sync Rate boost upon absorbing crystals after defeating the enemies.
Also, the nuclei can be exchanged for powerful weapons after reaching a certain point in the game but you will not meet this npc for some time. Do not be tempted to sell the nuclei for huge amounts of crystals but hold onto them as they are surely worth it.
Another important thing to understand is that A.I limit does not have a traditional stamina bar or a mana bar but instead functions mainly with theSync Rate bar.
YourSync Ratewill go down whenever you use a weapon skill or a spell but you gain Sync Rate by landing attacks against enemies.
The Sync Ratealso has multiple levels with you entering a weakened, vulnerable state once it reaches zero which can quickly lead to death. This system makes it so that, it is generally better to be on the offense maintaining your Sync Rate as you use your weapon skills and spells to deal huge amounts of damage or heal back up.
You can use theSync Rateto regain your health using the Partial Reconstruction spell, instead of using consumables or your life dew to regain your life points making it easier to reach the next branch before you’ve used up all your healing charges.
Weapon and Seal Upgrades
As with most souls-like games, you can upgrade your weapons using the upgrade materials called luminous carbon, luminous diamond, luminous silica and Iridescence. All weapons use these same materials and the luminous carbon is used to upgrade the weapon up to level 3, the luminous diamond is used up to level 6, luminous silica is used up to level 9 with a single Iridescence for the max level , level 10 along with crystals.
Iridescence is limited in the world but all the luminous material will be infinitely purchasable, so you don’t need to worry about spending them to upgrade the weapons you are currently using.
In addition to weapons, your main seals can also be upgraded up to five times using resonance. The first two levels require tiny resonance, level 3 and 4 requires contemporary resonance with the final level, level 5 requiring Hereditary resonance.
Hereditary resonance is limited in the world while the tiny and contemporary resonances are infinitely purchasable. One important thing to note though is, the resonances are purchased using adaptive fragments, which are random loot drops from enemies instead of crystals and these can be relatively harder to farm compared to crystals.
Consumable Tips
During your playthrough, you may worry that your consumables may be valuable or have other purposes for later. But this is not the case with most consumables being infinitely purchasable and serving no hidden purpose. One type of consumable, the Sacred Blood Crystal is really rare with only 3 in the world. As such, I recommend using this only against the tougher bosses.
Status Effects
There are three status effects in the game with them being poison, piercing and infection. Poison is pretty self-explanatory with it draining your life point slowly overtime after being triggered. Piercing can catch you off guard as it will deal a massive amount of burst damage when the bar is filled and the status effect is triggered so make sure to have your life bar as high as possible when the status effect is about to be triggered.
Lastly, infection can consistently drain yourSync Ratebar once triggered. Poison can be cured using the “Antidote” consumable, Piercing can be cured using the“Devitalized Fetus”consumable and Infection can be cured using the“Disordered Fetus”consumable.
These consumables are not limited and can be infinitely purchased using crystals so there is no need to fear running out when you most need it as long as you remember to keep them stocked. These can be purchased from Kyen, a merchant from the Moose caravan at the Top Apron Branch site.
Exploration & NPCs
Exploration is an important part of A.I limit and checking around nooks and corners can yield valuable loot, weapons, seals, spells and questline objectives. It’s definitely worth looking around carefully and paying attention to the notepads and text items you pick up to get context of what is going on in the world around you.
It is important to explore as you will also find items to increase your life dew charge which is tied to a questline. NPCs will also give you items and seals after finishing parts of their questline and missing an interaction with a npc can lock you out of a certain questline completely for that playthrough so make sure to explore each area thoroughly before moving on. And lastly, finishing certain questlines is necessary to get the “true” ending of the game.
